Dr. An Goldbauer  

Dr. An Goldbauer is a trans-identified male who serves as a volunteer, philanthropist, professor, Chair, consultant, Anti-Human trafficking expert, and photojournalist. He is a board member, professor, and Director of Student Advisement at the International Institute of Clinical Sexology. 

He contributed a chapter to Contemporary Topics in Patient Safety, Volume 3, titled "Restructuring the Informed Consent to Treatment to Reduce Narratives of Regret," and a chapter to Urban Environment and Human Health, titled "Socially Stabilizing Communities for Human Trafficking Survivors."


Dr. An completed his dissertation work in Human Trafficking and serves as an expert in the field. His work includes transgender care consulting, diversity training, best practices and prevention education, and effective case management with survivors. He has also served as a consultant for the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center in Jacksonville, Florida, and as a member of the See the Girl: Florida Leadership Council.

His photography has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Jacksonville, Florida, including In Honor of the Chair, featuring political leaders. He also presented Queer Works at the University of North Florida's Lufrano Gallery in conjunction with the launch of Dr. Thomas Serwatka's book, Queer Questions Clear Answers. The exhibit featured gay rights activist Frank Martin Gill, known for his landmark adoption rights case in partnership with the ACLU.



As a speaker, he presented on media representation in LGBTQIA communities at the 2014 Florida Collegiate Pride Conference and later at the University of North Florida, where he presented on "The Role of Media in LGBTQIA Communities." He also delivered a presentation titled What Is All the Hoopla with Puberty Blockers and Trans Care for Kids? for the First Coast Freethought Society in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) and the American Society of Media Photographers, a former Radio Host with Radio Reading, and a past board member at WJCT Public Broadcasting, an NPR affiliate 89.9 FM in Jacksonville, Florida.


His work has been featured in Arbus, Jacksonville’s Arts and Business Magazine. He is currently producing Message for Parents, a documentary exploring the experiences of transgender, intersex, and gender-diverse youth and their families, informed by more than 60 interviews with healthcare professionals, legal experts, parents, and transgender youth.

He also serves as a book editor for LGBTQ+ playwrights and has directed productions of Dustin Lance Black’s 8, which examines California’s Proposition 8, and The Vagina Monologues at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

Zander's unique perspective as a fifthysomething-year-old first-generation American of Mexican heritage (Latino) trans man, childhood TBI survivor, and neurodivergent first-generation college-graduate with a BA in Interpersonal Communication (1999), MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution (2003), MTS in Theological Systems (2004), and an MSW in Clinical Social Work (2012) with subject-matter expertise in conflict mitigation, social care, perennial wisdom, and mental well-being, influences all aspects of his work.
